Within the framework of the project «Promoting Gender Transformative Communities through Civil Participation», co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany from March 24 to 29, 2025 in six project locations in Andijan, Bukhara, Samarkand and Syrdarya regions, an award ceremony for the winners of two competitions aimed at supporting socially significant initiatives in local communities was held.
As part of a competition to support business initiatives of graduates of vocational courses, participants presented business ideas focused on the creation and development of their own microbusinesses. Funding the necessary resources for the winners of the competition was an important step in supporting entrepreneurship and promoting the economic independence of vulnerable categories of the population.
The “Women's Empowerment and Active Participation in Local Communities” contest featured a variety of creative works, including drawings, success stories and posters, which emphasized the importance of women's role in various spheres of life and drew attention to their significant contribution to social development. The winners were awarded prizes.
These events reaffirmed the importance of supporting socially relevant initiatives that promote gender equality and actively engage citizens in transforming social norms and creating more inclusive communities.
