«Strengthening the Social Protection System» funded by the World Bank

The «SABR» National Center for Socio-Economic Development and “Sabr Microfinance Organisation” LLC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, implemented the project «Strengthening the Social Protection System», funded by the World Bank with a total amount of USD 1.6 million.

From 2022 to 2024, the project was carried out in all 14 regions of Uzbekistan, targeting low-income and rural populations. Within the framework of the project, 5-day (35-hour) training sessions were held on the following topics, such as community mobilization, entrepreneurship development, business planning, access to credit, financial and legal literacy, taxation, gender-based violence and gender-related issues

Project Achievements (2022–2024):

- A total of 15,206 individuals from low-income groups received training in the fundamentals of entrepreneurship;

- As of today, 40% of them are actively operating as family entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, or self-employed individuals;

- 87% of the trained participants were women;

- A total of 502 training sessions were conducted across all 14 regions of Uzbekistan;

- Over the three-year period, 70 qualified trainers were selected and actively involved in project implementation.
